Sheriff's Security Officers are members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. While they are non-sworn, full time employees, they possess the skills and training necessary to recognize safety / security issues, deal with them accordingly, and assist Deputies in their daily duties.  Additionally, many of the daily operations and services we provide are conducted by our Security Officers.  Security Officers are an excellent resource for students to obtain information regarding public safety issues. All our Officers are highly skilled in dealing with the public.  Most Security Officers in the Sheriff's Department are assigned to court services, but the Officers assigned to campuses have chosen this environment to utilize their specialized abilities to interact with students and faculty.
