COMMANDER TYLER AWARDS DIPLOMAS TO RESERVE
CLASSES #90, #91, #93, AND #94

One female and thirty-one male Reserve Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department, along with twenty-one male and three female Reserve Officers from ten police agencies, graduated from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Training Academy in a ceremony held Monday night, July 22, 2002, in the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors’ Hearing Room.
In presenting the certificates of graduation to Reserve Classes #90, #91, #93 and #94, Commander Neal Tyler was joined by officials from the police departments of Arcadia, Burbank, Glendale, Huntington Park, JPL-NASA, La Verne, Los Angeles, Maywood, Monterey Park, and Mountain Recreation and Conservation Authority.
To prepare themselves for this law enforcement endeavor, the graduates participated in all-day training classes on Sundays along with two weekday evening training classes each week. In order to achieve various levels of Reserve status, graduates accumulated between 162 and 664 hours of intensive training.
In his congratulatory remarks to the class, Commander Tyler said, “Today, the expectations and demands from the community for quality law enforcement performance have never been greater. We are indeed fortunate that these fine people have chosen to take part in the Reserve Law Enforcement Program. They bring courage and dedication to the job at hand, and provide valuable and much needed resources in assisting us in our efforts to respond appropriately to the needs and expectations of the community.”
Those interested in receiving additional information on the reserve program may contact their nearest Sheriff’s Station.
