1. Complete an application for veteran's benefits.
2. Bring a copy of your DD214 along with the completed application to your advisor. 3. Register for classes with your advisor. 4. To receive payment, you need to verify your enrollment about three weeks after the start of the term. If you are in the Reserves, you will need to verify your enrollment every month that you are in class. Preferably, you should do this at the end of each month to receive payment for the one proceeding. If you are not in the Reserves, you only need to verify your enrollment once per term. 5. You should receive payment for your enrollment within a couple of weeks after verifying your credits on the phone system. A note about academic progress: If you receive an unsatisfactory grade for a course at ______ (School) while you are receiving benefits, the school is required to investigate the reasons behind the grade. In some cases, the VA will adjust your future payments based on the school's findings. Furthermore, if your GPA drops below a 2.0, the school cannot certify you for benefits until you raise your GPA.
